For the final episode of We@UIC this semester, Visiting Assistant Professor Aura Venckunaite explores what happens when form is understood not as a fixed configuration but as a continuous process of transformation.
In Form Couture, material samples serve as points of departure for digital simulations that examine their behavior and capacity for change. Couture coats envelop and reshape what they cover, generating shifting silhouettes rather than fixed configurations. Couture informs the work through precision of construction, specificity of detail, and a provocative pursuit of invention.
Across the collection, making continually renegotiates the relationship between material and form. These investigations take shape as digital constructs, physical fragments, prototypes, and installations, each with its own logic.
Free and open to all.
