The Fall 2026 Public Program extends the School’s conversations beyond the studios and seminars, bringing practices, research, and theoretical positions from elsewhere into dialogue with the School and opening up different ways of thinking about how architecture is produced.
This semester, the program looks beyond finished work to the processes through which architecture takes shape. Invited speakers will situate individual projects within their broader practices, addressing the decisions, negotiations, constraints, collaborations, and occasional false starts that tend to disappear from the final image.
Together with WE@UIC, which brings the work of our own faculty into conversation with the School community, the program offers a platform for looking at architecture as an ongoing process of questioning, testing, and making, shaped by material realities, cultural contexts, disciplinary questions, and the people who make projects possible.
