Garofalo Fellowship exhibition opening

Garofalo Fellowship exhibition opening
Monday, April 22, 5:30pm
1300 A+D Studios

The UIC School of Architecture invites you to celebrate the opening of the 2018–19 Douglas A. Garofalo Fellowship exhibition, Anne Dessing: And then when I went to Chicago, that’s when I had these outer space experiences and went to the other planets.

As the Garofalo Fellow, Dessing has done research on architectural elements that divide space, such as walls, doors, windows, columns, fences, arches, and gates. Through drawings that examine architectural elements and surfaces from Detroit, St Louis, and Chicago, the exhibition tells a story about surreal situations in the Midwest.

The exhibition will remain on view through Friday, May 10. Dessing will give a public lecture at the Graham Foundation on Thursday, May 2, at 7pm; details are below.
