Admitted undergraduate students are invited to join a series of events in April that present the work and thinking happening in the school’s programs.

Open Studio: Through the Seams
Friday, April 16, 5pm
Zoom link by request

Open Studios are a chance to drop in on the design work happening at the School of Architecture this semester.

On April 16, we’re visiting the second-year undergrad studio, Through the Seams. In sewing, a seam is the moment where two or more layers of textiles are held together with stitches. For architecture, a seam is the space between two or more materials that either meld together or antagonize each other. This studio examines seams as geometric and spatial details and mashups of traditional and unexpected materials.

Open Studio: The Market Studio
Friday, April 23, 5pm
Zoom link by request

Our last Open Studio event of the semester visits the third-year undergrads. The Market Studio studio seeks to understand shopping—the mundane kind that is required of all of us—and architecture’s ability to make these activities significant, with a specific focus on the big box store.
