Ring of Hope, a project by Associate Professor Paul Priessner’s firm Paul Priessner Architects, was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2019 Progressive Architecture Awards. A boxing facility in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood, Ring of Hope accommodates multiple recreational programs, which can be made visible to the public through moveable corrugated congrete panels on the building’s facade. The P/A Awards, granted yearly by Architect magazine, highlight ten fully developed but not yet realized projects that anticipate future influences, typologies, forms, and techniques.
