Sam Jacob commissioned to redesign V&A entrance

Clinical Professor Sam Jacob’s firm Sam Jacob Studio has been commissioned to rework the landmarked Cromwell Road entrance to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, a project that will transform the rotunda in the museum’s main entryway. Jacob previously worked with the V&A on a gallery in Shenzhen, China, that opened last year. More information on the V&A project, which is part of a larger initiative by the museum to engage contemporary architects, is available via the Architects’ Journal.

This January, Jacob also opened the solo exhibition Empire of Ice Cream at Betts Project, in London. On February 6, he will lecture at the Soane Museum on the theme “critical drawing.”
