These live sessions are hosted by the Graduate Advisor or Director of Graduate Studies. We will cover information about the school’s graduate degree programs, the admissions process, and the work and activities current students are engaging with. Attendees will also see photos of the school's facilities and graduate studio and have an opportunity to ask questions.
Graduate Visit Day
Wednesday, October 28, 2:30–5:30pm
(optional faculty talk from 1:00–2:00pm)
Visit us in person to meet faculty and students, tour our facilities and fabrication labs, see student work, and learn more about the student experience in the graduate program.
Virtual Admission Portfolio Workshop
Tuesday, November 3, 6:00–8:00pm
Learn more about what makes a good admission portfolio! Attendees will have the option to submit a draft of their portfolio and receive individual feedback.
TryArch Workshop
Saturday, November 7, 10:00am–6:00pm
This is an intensive one-day workshop for prospective grad students to learn a bit about what it means to study architecture, experience a studio environment, and build content for a portfolio. TryArch is intended for students who have a limited architecture background. Learn more here.
Virtual Director + Grad Student Panel
Tuesday, November 17, 6:00–7:30pm
Learn more about UIC’s approach to the discipline and what makes our program unique from Director Marc Manack. Hear current graduate students discuss their experiences in the school and the paths that led them here. The panel discussion will be moderated by Director of Graduate Studies Kelly Bair.
